Management and Leadership
Excellent stewardship and compliance with regulatory and commissioning requirements are critical responsibilities for all our staff regardless of position.
Our managers are aware of, and keep under review, the day-to-day culture in the service, including the attitudes, values, and behaviour of staff. The leadership fosters and engenders a work environment where responsibility and accountability are understood at all levels, with clear and transparent processes in place for staff to account for their decisions, actions, behaviours, and performance. Staff are reminded of the potential risks that may compromise quality, they are supported, where appropriate, to deliver what is required, in partnership with key organisations, including the local authority, safeguarding teams and clinical commissioning groups, to support care provision, service development and joined-up care.
We address the need for safe recruitment practices and the ongoing management of staff, ensuring that service users are not exposed to harm, and any underperformance and indiscipline amongst staff are identified and addressed. We go further in encouraging staff retention by motivating and developing staff, ensuring work-life balance, and providing good working conditions and managerial accessibility and visibility (in or out of hours), for staff support promptly. Our leaders promote a culture of openness, transparency, inclusiveness, and empowerment of staff, ensuring that staff understand the vision and values of the organisation.
Where there are concerns, staff are supported and if required, protected to raise these, which are promptly managed or investigated to drive continuous improvement.
