Floating/Peripatetic Support
We provide this support to service users who do not require intensive support and are reasonably functional but require limited support to live as fully and independently as possible within their local community.
We support them in developing life skills and becoming independent in the areas of budgeting, sorting out bills, cooking, shopping, support to access college, work (paid or voluntary), liaising with the landlord, maintaining their dwelling accessing other services such as healthcare and entitlement to welfare benefits and providing practical, social and emotional support, healthy lifestyle support, such as food and nutrition planning, Support with college work, find additional guidance and support where necessary
This provision can be short or long-term support for service user either in periods of crisis or who may be having difficulties managing their lives. This support enables the service user to get back on track, improve their skills and confidence to take back control of their life and make their own decisions. Floating support works by ensuring that problems are identified and resolved, and then at the right time, the staff ‘floats off’ to work with other service users who need support.
